Running A Healthy Business

Last night, I attended Whole Foods Market Business Panel for Running a Healthy Business. The panel consisted of the health food industry best: Deliciously Ella, Pip & Nut, Propercorn, 26 Grains & Livia's Kitchen. It was such an awesome insight into what it takes to start, fund and manage a healthy foods business and the important of social media in driving sales and content.

My favourite part of the night (apart from Ella's signature for the cookbook), was when the panelists were asked to give their advice to people like me, interested in starting a business in the healthy foods industry:

1. Be conservative with your budget or ask for help from someone who has financial experience... if you have no money then you cannot run your business

2. It is 90% execution and 10% your idea.... focus on your idea, but put all of your energy towards the proper and best execution! Know you financials!

3. Mistakes will happen every day so continue to learn from them

4. Don't rush your development

5. Let go of your ego and hire up! Know your weaknesses and be proud to find someone who can compliment those missing skills sets. Example: I am creative so I need the help of a financially savvy business partner
